Come to a hand building ceramic class. Located in a charming artist studio in Chelsea. a Emilie will provide nibbles and music and please feel free to bring some drinks. Enjoy this experience by yourself, with friends, family colleagues or even for a romantic date and discover your inner artist! These are hand building classes/ sculpting where students of all levels of experience are welcome. Beginners will be introduced to the basics and can expect to create sculptures/vessels such as bowls ash trays, vases, mugs, etc (see picutres for previous works - some are from classes in the previous studios…

HOW TO GET TO THE STUDIO: When you arrive at 9 Fleming Close Studios please ring No.9 on the buzzer and you will be let in.

The Studio is up the stairs to your left.

I AM A NOVICE, WILL I BE ABLE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EASILY?

Yes, all levels of experience are welcome.

DO YOU HAVE STEP FREE ACCESS?

Yes. Step free access is available via the lifts and ramps on the ground floor. If you need assistance, please get in touch prior to your session.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

Nothing, just bring yourself. All materials and equipment are provided. Come dressed in something comfortable, that you don't mind getting a little clay on.

WHAT CAN I MAKE?

Anything! We suggest small and medium sized pieces. Some students manage to make up to 3 pieces.

CAN I TAKE AWAY MY PIECES AFTER THE SESSION?

No. The pieces need to go through a drying process, then 2 firings - before they are ready to collect approx. 4 weeks later. Once they are ready to collect, you will be notified via email/mobile.

DO YOU HAVE EVENING SESSIONS?

Yes, every Tuesday. For private appointments, please get in touch.

My partner and I had a lovely evening class with Emilie. She quickly taught us some effective techniques then let us run wild building. Despite our ideas being quite ambitious she made sure we finished and helped us along the way so that we had a painted final article ready for the kiln. Along the way Emilie was friendly and created a great relaxing atmosphere which made celebrating a birthday very special. Thanks Emilie!

the class itself was great but the communication after wasn’t ideal, I had to chase a couple of times to collect my pieces (I think as soon as a delay was possible I should’ve been messaged) and the pick up was really delayed. I could have also done with more guidance during the class as I made a container for my pieces to go in and was told it was big enough, but sadly when I picked it up the pieces didn’t fit inside :(
